The Catholic Cemetery Office of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence has announced the construction of a new mausoleum at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston. Bishop Thomas J. Tobin will offer a blessing at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Mausoleum of SS. Peter and Paul on Tuesday, May 1 at 1:00 pm
Friends, family, veterans and government representatives gathered in front of the Veterans Monument at Resurrection Cemetery to honor the memory of Frederic Conrad “Dick” Messier, Jr., a native of Pawtucket who grew up in Cumberland and served as a navy seaman aboard the USS Frank E. Evans.
For several decades, Resurrection Cemetery has offered a peaceful burial space for Catholic residents of northern Rhode Island, including those who served their country in the military during their lifetime.
